Operation Christmas: Home for the Holidays
December 5, 2025
This Christmas, we're giving families back their homes for the holidays, and we wouldn't have been able to do it without the help and support from Divine Disaster Relief. An organization that focuses on the direct aftermath of natural disasters by providing aid to those in need through temporary housing, construction rebuilds and overall financial relief, they've funded the rebuild and restoration of several homes - start to finish - in some of the hardest hit areas from Hurricane Helene (such as Swannanoa, Black Mountain, and Fairview). Not only that, but they're using the grant they received from the American Red Cross to employ and subsequently provide an opportunity for us to train our students in the trades all while providing relief and comfort to families who lost so much during the storm.
It is the greatest joy to give these families their homes in time for Christmas, and we're honored to have our students and staff be part of it and learn important skills throughout it all.

"Divine Disaster Relief Announces New Partnership With Excel College to Advance Home Repair Efforts in WNC
Western North Carolina — Divine Disaster Relief is thrilled to announce a new partnership with Excel College, who is joining our mission to restore and rebuild homes for families impacted across Western North Carolina. Their support, combined with grant funding American Red Cross, is helping accelerate our home repair program and expand its impact.
Through this collaboration, we are on track to repair at least eight homes in the coming months, bringing safe, stable, and secure housing back to community members who need it most. In addition, this initiative will employ nine local contractors, strengthening our local workforce and keeping recovery dollars within the region.“
This is what community looks like,” said leaders at Divine Disaster Relief. “Partnerships like this fuel hope, create opportunity, and allow neighbors to help neighbors rebuild stronger than before.”
Divine Disaster Relief extends sincere gratitude to Excel College and the American Red Cross for their continued investment in community resilience.
